aac cable type overhead conductor bare cable conductor

Specification for aac cable :

Aluminium Alloy Conductor is used as overhead power transmission line. It is conductive and could be the load line of itself.

    1. Standard:IEC 61089, ASTM B399,BS 3242, DIN 48204

    2. AAAC are composed by bare concentric-lay-stranded aluminum alloy wires.

    3. AAAC are used in overhead electric power transmission and distributionlines.

Material Standard for aac cable :

(1).The hard aluminum conductor used for AAC and ACSR conforms to the standard GB/T 17048-1997(equivalent to IEC 60889:1987).

(2).The zinc coated steel wire used for ACSR conforms to IEC 60888:1987.

(3).Production can be arranged according to customers requirements for material standard, etc.

Construction of All Aluminum Conductor and Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced

All Aluminum Conductor(AAC)& Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced(ACSR))for ASTM (AAC, ACCR, AAAC, ACSR) Generally Confirming to IS 398 (Part-I, II, IV), IEC-228

Construction for aac cable :

(1)All Aluminium Alloy Conductors are generally made out of aluminium alloy 6201.

(2)Standard 6201-T81 high strength aluminum conductors, conforming to ASTM Specification B-399, are concentric-lay-stranded, similar in construction and appearance to 1350 grade aluminum conductors.

(3)AAAC (All Aluminum Alloy Conductor) referred to conductors have higher strength but lower conductivity than pure aluminum.

Features for aac cable :

• Simpler fittings than those required for ACSR.

• Excellent corrosion resistance in environments conducive to galvanic corrosion in ACSR.

• Outside diameters are the same as for standard ACSR conductors, permitting interchangeability of fittings.

• Greater resistance to abrasion than that for 1350 wires in all-aluminum or ACSR conductors.

• High tensile strength as compared to AAC conductor.

• Higher conductivity as compared to ACSR conductor.
